Who we are
Welcome to Holy Trinity, Devonport
I’m Charmaine Braatvedt, the Vicar of the Anglican Parish of Devonport.
There are two churches in this Parish. Holy Trinity Church is situated at 20 Church Street and St Augustine’s Church is located at 90 Calliope Road.
Nestled at the base of Mount Victoria and North Head, Devonport is one of the oldest suburbs in Auckland and certainly the oldest on the North Shore. This seaside village has a reputation for being a friendly and welcoming community. Many of the homes are bungalows or villas which give it an historical feel. The New Zealand Navy is based here in Devonport.
The Parish sees itself as a welcoming and caring faith community. It is an indication of this hospitality that Holy Trinity Church, is open 7 days a week, during daylight hours. Come in to enjoy the warm beauty of this historic building. It is furnished with native kauri timber, and magnificent stained glass windows. Call in for a visit, or to rest or pray – or come to a Service on a Sunday or Wednesday and receive a warm and caring
The Mission and vision statements of the Parish reflect the priorities of the Faith Community:
“To Know Christ and to make Christ known”. We strive to be “a Christ centred community that attracts all people into a relationship with God and inspires them to serve.

Teach us to serve Thee
Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest: To give and not to count the cost; To fight and not to heed the wounds; To toil and not to seek for rest; To labour and not ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do Thy will.
