Who we are
We are sold out for Jesus, his Kingdom and his purposes, pure and simple. Our aim as a church is to know Jesus better and tell everyone about him.
We believe that the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, as faithfully translated from the original languages, is the infallible inspired Word of God, and is the supreme authority for faith and conduct both for the individual and for the church.
We believe in the Trinity of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit who are each fully sovereign God.
We believe that the only way of salvation is through confession, repentance, belief and faith in Jesus Christ, who, according to the Scriptures, died for our sins, was buried and was raised from the dead and is able to save those who put their faith in Him, as confirmed in the Bible.
We believe that all who have truly repented and believed in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour are commanded to be baptised by immersion in water.
We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the essential, biblically-based evidence of speaking with other tongues.
We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that we are to be a witness to the world about us, embracing Christ’s commission to preach the good news in both word and deed.
We believe that God is a God of purpose, and has a purpose for us individually and corporately.
We believe in the ministries that Christ has set in his church, namely apostles, prophets and evangelists.
We believe in holiness of life and conduct, in obedience to the command of God.
We believe in the physical return of the Lord Jesus Christ, to reign in power and glory.

Team Spirit
The Ethos
Cycling has been an activity enjoyed by many members of the church (mainly male, it has to be said!) since its inauguration in 1989 and today, under the name Team Spirit, it is still going strong.
Open to all, those who take part from CONNECT Church have a simple desire to meet people through an everyday activity - it provides an opportunity to chat, form relationships, share testimonies and invite others to church.
The Concept
Simply, we are a light-hearted group of cyclists - out for a chat, a laugh and a brew. Generally the routes are geared towards road riding with a couple of off-road ones thrown in for good measure!
The group is inclusive and is keen to embrace new ideas, routes and challenges. Every now and then we undertake the physical challenge of a longer route – this gives those who take part a real sense of achievement.
We have also organised charity rides, enabling us to support local community projects. If you are looking for a relaxed group, if you want to see some of the Garden of England’s glorious landscape from a different perspective, if you want to get fit, return to cycling, or simply use us as a platform to prepare for club riding or a particular event... we would love you to join us.
When
The group rides take place on alternate Saturday mornings starting around 8 am and running from February – October departing from Madginford Shopping Parade.
For more information see our calendar

On Tuesdays, for road bike riders, we have recently introduced gang/drafting riding training sessions. These sessions are to enhance team camaraderie, cycling efficiency and skill and to increase to your speed. These sessions are ad-hoc due to weather and other commitments and, once you join up, details of these rides will be advised by email.
Requirements
There is no club membership; we do not ask for fees and there is no commitment.
If you wish to join us for any scheduled ride just turn up, we will be delighted to see you! All we do ask is that you can ride and have a road worthy bike (road, hybrid or mountain) and a helmet.
Join us – you might not know where you are going but you will definitely make new friends on the journey!
Winter Shelter
The Maidstone Churches Winter Shelter has, since its launch in 2013, provided a bed, hot food and a safe friendly environment for Maidstone's many homeless people at churches around the town every night of the winter months.
The shelter not only provides refuge overnight but seeks to help those coming through its doors to find accommodation of their own.
CONNECT Church has been pleased to support the shelter since its launch by providing a number of volunteers.
For more information about the shelter, or to donate or volunteer, please go to: www.maidstoneshelter.org.uk Â

CONNECT Church Maidstone History
Our roots go back to the late 1980s, when we were one of a number of local churches planted out around Maidstone by Manna Christian Fellowship, then based at Brewer Street in the town centre. At first called East Maidstone Christian Fellowship, our church met in Weavering Village Hall from 1989 until 1994, when we transferred to Madginford Primary School.
In 2002 we renamed ourselves Bearsted Community Church, to reflect the area where most of us then lived, and where our work was focussed. A few years later we acquired charitable status in our own right, becoming a fully independent church. Growing attendances and the need for more space led us to move our main meeting place to Valley Park School in September 2014.
Over recent years the church's vision for its role has extended beyond Bearsted, and, in reflection of that, its name was changed to CONNECT Church Maidstone, in January 2016. In April 2018 we moved our services to the Maidstone Skills and Community Centre in Senacre, where most of our ministry and outreach is focused.

I ask for...
I ask you neither for health nor for sickness, for life nor for death; but that you may dispose of my health and my sickness, my life and my death, for your glory... You alone know what is expedient for me; you are the sovereign master, do with me according to your will. Give to me, or take away from me, only conform my will to yours. I know but one thing, Lord, that it is good to follow you, and bad to offend you. Apart from that, I know not what is good or bad in anything. I know not which is most profitable to me, health or sickness, wealth or poverty, nor anything else in the world. That discernment is beyond the power of men or angels, and is hidden among the secrets of your providence, which I adore, but do not seek to fathom.
