Who we are
Our Mission
As a church we are all about Jesus and the gospel of God’s grace.
The word Gospel mean’s Good News. And the word Grace means free, undeserved gift.
We are a church family made up of ordinary people from all sorts of backgrounds and cultures, united in our faith in Jesus Christ as our saviour and Lord. We are not perfect, far from it, but we have a God who is helping us, changing us and giving us certain hope through the gospel. In the bible God has revealed his gracious gift to bring us back in to relationship with him through Jesus. This good news about Jesus is the only thing that can bring real hope in life and death. Jesus is the centre of all things, and through faith in him we become what we were meant to be. That’s why we love telling people about Jesus and keeping him central in everything we do.

Jon became a Christian at 17 when he heard and understood the wonderful news that Jesus had made it possible to come back in to relationship with God.
Jon is married to Ruth and has 4 children - Ben, Lily, Josh and Toby.
Before beginning ministry Jon was a Music and PE teacher at a comprehensive school in East London for 8 years. Having studied theology at Oak Hill College, London, he served as assistant pastor at Kennet Valley Free Church in Reading for 3 years.
Jon loves playing and listening to music and has recently developed an outreach jazz project www.therootsofjazz.com
He is also a keen sportsman and follower of sport.
