Who we are
Gates of Faith Ministries, Church of God in Christ, was born from a Home Prayer and Bible Study conducted by Elder Alfred L. Nicholson. Our group met in the dining room of his home on Wednesday nights until there was not enough room to accommodate. Afterwards we moved to Sister Catherine Goode’s home, continuing Wednesday Night meetings and added Sunday Morning Sunday School.
One Sunday morning Elder Nicholson stated that we needed to recognize the direction our group was heading. Then he announced that the setting was the making of a church, and not just a home Bible study group. He then asked how many would like to become members of a newborn church called Gates of Faith Ministries. At that time, there were approximately twenty people who consented to be members and some remain to this day.
Our Purpose Statement:
We are militant members of the family of God who study to develop in Christ-like maturity, to be equipped for our ministry in the church, as well as our life’s mission in the world, in order to magnify god’s name.

Gates of Faith Ministries exist to build Biblical faith for successful living in your family, finances, and future through the favor of God.

Help me to avoid every sin
Thanks to Thee, O God, that I have risen today, To the rising of this life itself; may it be to Thine own glory, O God of every gift, and to the glory, aid Thou my soul. With the aiding of Thine own mercy, even as I clothe my body with wool, cover Thou my soul with the shadow of Thy wing. Help me to avoid every sin, and the source of every sin to forsake, and as the mist scatters on the crest of the hills, may each ill haze clear from my soul, O God.
