Who we are
At St Georges we are all welcomed – and we really mean that!
People here come from all walks of life, and there is lots to do and experience: from quiet prayer services to the music program, christian education, bible studies, prayer shawl ministry, Godly Play children’s ministry, and opportunities to serve the community.
Whether you know anything about church or not, you are invited to explore and wrestle with life’s big questions together with us. We are all in it together! So:
To those filled with a desire to explore faith Who seek truth and meaning Come as you are, whether believing or doubting You have a place in this church
To share life’s joys and struggles To seek healing, forgiveness, and peace in Christ Filled with wonder and a desire to give thanks To pray, sing, listen, wonder, and discover

St. George on-the-Hill Service Times
Weekly Celebrations
Summer Sundays
Sunday celebrations in the summer are held at 9:30am, beginning June 30th through to September 1st. We resume our regular schedule on September 8th. There are no mid-week celebrations.
Sunday 8:30am
A quiet and contemplative celebration of Holy Communion with three hymns, accompanied by the pipe organ or grand piano.
Sunday 10:30am
This is the main gathering for St. George’s community. It is a celebration of Solemn High Mass, rich in ceremonial and beautiful music on the pipe organ, and Gregorian chant. The choir leads the congregation in singing hymns and choral music written by a wide range of composers, including John Merbecke, Healey Willan, and our Organist Emeritus, Karen Rymal.
Nursery Care, Children’s Ministry, and Youth Ministry are offered at this celebration.
Wednesday 10:00am with Bible Study
A quiet and contemplative celebration of Holy Communion with three hymns accompanied by grand piano. It is a relaxed, almost conversational style of worship service. The congregation gathers at the front of the church, in the choir stalls. After the celebration, we gather for refreshments, and a time to study and reflect on the scripture lessons for the upcoming Sunday.
Wednesday 7:30pm
Church by Candlelight
The candlelight celebration is a time to pause in the middle of a busy week and relax as candlelight and darkness immerses you in an experience of prayer, meditation and music. No prayer books, no hymn books; candles provide all the light needed. The evening offers the comfort of anonymity by candlelight, followed by an opportunity to converse and connect during refreshments afterward.
It's been more than 4 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.
