Who we are
Welcome to St George's! We're a Christian community living life to the full.
St George's is a community of all-ages, with many different backgrounds and nationalities represented. What unites us is our relationship with Jesus and our desire to follow Him in a life adventure that is full of purpose, hope and transformation. But don't just take our word for it: come and see by visiting any of our Sunday services or other events. We'd love to welcome you and meet you in person.

St George's Service Times
St George's is an example of a multiple-congregation church. We have 4 Sunday congregations and one Wednesday congregation. Each congregation meets at the same time each week, with a consistent style. But a range of styles are offered across the congregations as a whole. Each week, across the five congregations, around 450 gather for worship.
SUNDAY 7.45 AM
This is a traditional, liturgical communion service with hymns. We use the New Zealand Prayer Book. On the fourth Sunday of each month we use the form of service from the 1928 Prayer Book.
SUNDAY 9.00 AM
This is a communion service combining traditional prayers from the New Zealand Prayer Book with a mixture of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs. Prayer is offered to individuals after the service, which finishes about 10.15 am. Coffee and tea are available in the hall afterwards on the first and third Sundays of the month.
A crèche is provided in a room at the back of the church, where the service is relayed and there are toys for young children. There is someone on hand to make you a drink or play with your child while the service is on progress. A children's programme for up to school year 6 is also provided in the hall.
SUNDAY 10.45 AM
An informal and relaxed service with communion and contemporary songs. A range of Kids and Youth Programmes are run parallel to the service, which finishes around 12.15pm. Prayer is available at the end of the service when tea and coffee are served.
SUNDAY 7.00PM - St G’s at 7
An informal and relaxed service with contemporary songs. Chat over coffee and cake at the end. St G's at 7 is a popular place for young adults.
WEDNESDAY 10.00 AM
This is a quieter communion service based on the New Zealand Prayer Book. It includes a brief reflective sermon and morning tea is served afterwards. Prayer for healing is offered on the first Wednesday of each month.
It's been more than 4 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.

St George's History
Love me, Lord, just for today
Lord, for tomorrow and its needs, I do not pray; Keep me, my God, from stain of sin just for today. Let me both diligently work, And duly pray. Let me be kind in word and deed, Just for today. Let me be slow to do my will, Prompt to obey; Help me to sacrifice myself Just for today. And if today my tide of life should ebb away, Give me thy sacraments divine, Sweet Lord today. So for tomorrow and its needs I do not pray, But keep me, guide me, love me, Lord, Just for today.
