Who we are
Churches are exciting places. Full of history and atmosphere, they draw you in to marvel at the colour of glass and vestment, the sound of music and silence in quiet corner and peaceful chapel. The Churches of the Parish of Cornwallis are no exception. It has been a Parish for two and a half centuries since the arrival of the New England planters. In worship, first at Fox Hill, then, for the last two hundred years, in the light and beautiful building at the corner of the Grand Dyke Road (Highway 358) and Church Street and in the churches in Canning and Kingsport, built in the first decade of the twentieth century, worshippers have met the Risen Christ, received the grace of word and sacrament and fellowship and offered thanks and praise to God, and reached out to serve in the world around. All of the churches in this parish are vehicles of grace and signs of God’s presence in space and time, here and now. Places of pilgrimage for those seeking something different, something more, something holy.
Why not come yourself, and find yourself inspired and renewed to face the challenges of life? To say a quiet prayer for someone for whom you're concerned? Come, and receive hospitality to feed body, mind and soul, and a blessing to send you on your way.
All services of public worship in the Parish are conducted according to the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) or the Book of Alternative Services (BAS)

Additional Info:
Sunday worship at St. John's is at 11:00am. The service begins with an opening hymn and a children's talk followed by a children's hymn, after which any children present may leave for Sunday school classes and the rest of the service follows. Music is an important part of our worship at St. John's and the congregation is encouraged to take part in the singing of the canticles and hymns. Visitors who wish a traditional Anglican service in a larger Parish church setting should attend St. John's.

Teach us to serve Thee
Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest: To give and not to count the cost; To fight and not to heed the wounds; To toil and not to seek for rest; To labour and not ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do Thy will.
