Who we are
Welcome to St. John the Baptist Church, Lakefield, Ontario. We are a church that values a blend of traditional Anglican liturgy and contemporary forms of Anglican worship. Our mission is: To Know Christ and Make Him Known. As ordinary people who seek the transforming and healing power of Christ in our lives, we strive to become more faithful, joyful, disciples of Christ. We look for opportunities to make a difference in our community and in the world.
In our worship services, we seek to glorify God with reverence and enthusiasm. We uphold the authority of scripture, the importance of prayer and acknowledge the power of the Holy Spirit. We are eager to share our love of Christ with others in a respectful, encouraging way. Therefore, we welcome those who may be unsure of their faith or who want to learn more about Christ. We invite you to spend some time with us. Come and see!
Currently, we are engaging in a number of activities to understand better what it means to be a follower of Jesus and to truly make him Lord of our lives. We invite you to join us as we grow as a faith community as we more deliberately seek to follow the example that Jesus provided for us and the challenges he called us to meet. This is an exciting time for us as we focus our attention on the words and actions of Jesus as recorded in the four Gospels and as we challenge one another to find appropriate ways to be "a little Jesus" in our own cultural context.

Learn to know Christ
Learn to know Christ and him crucified. Learn to sing to him, and say, Lord Jesus, you are my righteousness, I am your sin. You have taken upon yourself what is mine and given me what is yours. You have become what you were not so that I might become what I was not.
