Who we are
All Saints is a worshiping community in Meridian, Idaho, rooted in the belief that the historic Christian gospel is true, compelling, and transformative. We come from all stages and walks of life. So whatever your background, whether you are committed to Jesus, skeptical of his claims, or just curious about his story, come join us on Sunday mornings.
Our Purpose
Christians in the past summarized the purpose of human existence saying, “Man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.” While this is the ultimate reason for which God made all human beings, the unique mission with which Jesus has charged the church is to “make disciples” (Matt. 28:16-20). By definition, a disciple is a follower of another, one who imitates the life and faith of the one they follow.
As a church, our purpose is to make disciples of Jesus who will in turn fulfill their chief end of glorifying and enjoying God. The result of men, women and children becoming and growing as mature and equipped followers of Christ is transformation, both personally (2 Cor. 5:17) and at every level of society (Col. 1:19).

As each of us knows from our own spiritual journey and our study of the Scriptures, the making of a mature and equipped follower of Christ is a process. Ultimately, the transformation of a person who is unfamiliar with Jesus or his church into a person who is a servant-leader like Jesus depends on the work of the Holy Spirit. However, from Scripture we see that humanly speaking that process commonly consists of the following which makes up our mission.

Leader Bio:
Phil grew up in Texas and has been married to Rhoda since college. They have three children and a grandchild. After retiring from the practice of medicine, Phil felt the call to pastoral ministry and received his Master of Arts in Religion from Reformed Theological Seminary/Charlotte in 2014. He was the Assistant Pastor at a PCA church in Scottsdale before moving to Eagle. He enjoys college football, horticulture, playing the guitar/bass and good conversation.

All Saints Presbyterian Church History
OUR STORY
All Saints began in 1996 as two PCA church plants, East River and Valley West. In time, the two churches joined forces as Valley West and worked to proclaim the gospel across the Treasure Valley. The early years were difficult for a handful of reasons. We owe much to our original elders and to the Pacific Northwest Presbytery, of which we are members. Several pastors came and went, and the church met in borrowed spaces at Centennial High School, Boise State's Student Union Building, and other local churches who were gracious enough to host us. In 2002, Valley West called Brad Chaney to be our Senior Pastor, a role that he still fills by God's grace.
In 2008, the church bought a building on Bogus Basin Road, across from the Simplot mansion. It was during the move that Valley West became All Saints. God richly blessed the church there in worship, community, and growth. Members from that time remember its old wooden trusses and the hillside where kids played after worship. We helped launch Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) at Boise State, called Brian Douglas as Associate Pastor, and became members of the Northwest Church Planting Network while meeting at Bogus Basin.
Before long, however, we had outgrown our space. The church's age made it difficult to renovate. Every available plan was considered, and in the end we made the difficult decision to sell our "first house" and relocate to The Ambrose School in Meridian, where we now meet. The move was a time of transition, but God's grace to us has been continued there too. We called Phil Hunter to be our Executive Pastor, and we have fulfilled a long-time dream of planting a new church, Boise Presbyterian downtown.
If you come to All Saints on any given Sunday, you will see a "fresh continuity" of new and old: a new meeting place, fresh faces, new songs and prayers each week, a renewed calling and vision. Yet in many ways we are the same church we have always been: our senior pastor is the same, our mission to reach the Treasure Valley continues, our roots are reflected in our worship, we still prioritize the Word and sacrament, and we are still an imperfect people following a perfect Savior. We hope you will join us along the way.
