Who we are
At Bairnsdale Baptist Church we love Jesus and we value the opportunity that we have each week to spend time in worship.
Our worship service starts at 10am each Sunday morning and usually finishes at about 11.15am. Following the service we share in morning tea and a time of fellowship.
Our worship service typically includes the following elements:
Welcome Worship through singing Announcements Offering as a means of giving back to God Bible reading Communion (twice per month) Teaching through a sermon Prayer
During the later half of the service, we have a Sunday School for primary school aged children. There is also a cry room for parents which still enables you to hear and see the service.
We would love to have you come and visit us.
Safe Churches
At Bairnsdale Baptist Church (BBC) we take the safety and care of everyone who enters our church seriously. In particular we are additionally focused on providing a safe environment for children, youth, the elderly and any other vulnerable people.
The church has a range of policies and procedures, across church life, to ensure that we are providing safe places to run safe programs which are led by safe people.
At BBC all church leaders, along with all adults leading or helping in ministry with children or youth undergo regular training on Safe Church/Child Safe practices and also must have a current and valid Working With Children Check. BBC use the nationally recognised ChildSafe Program to train and equip our leaders and volunteers. We also receive regular updates from the Baptist Union of Victoria on changes in legislation and practice.
BBC seeks to fully comply with all state and national Child Safe Standards including Mandatory Reporting requirements and the Reportable Conduct Scheme. Our Safe Church concerns person is Andrew Fearn-Wannan. Andrew can be contacted by phone on 0448601042 or via email.

Bairnsdale Baptist Church History
The Bairnsdale Baptist Church started in 1990 as a church plant in a home. The church then moved to a school room, a theatre, and then a school hall before purchasing our own property in 2002, on which the present building was built (using mostly our own labour!).
In 2013, in response to growing numbers in our Kids and Youth programs, the church built the multi-purpose hall and offices at the front of the church. In 2017 the car park was sealed to reduce dust and mud on wet days. An added benefit of the sealing has been to create a space for a basketball ring for Youth Group.
