Our Mission
The passion and purpose of our church is captured in these 3 compelling words. They are simple, yet profound imperatives that summarize our response to God's love and Word.
Love. We are called to love as Jesus loved. God's commandments for our lives were summarized by Jesus Himself, when He affirmed that we are to love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, mind and strength... and to love our neighbors as ourselves. (Luke 10:27-28)
Live. We are driven to answer the call to "live out" in our daily lives what Christ has worked within. "Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not "mine," but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I am not going to go back on that." Galatians 2:20 (Message)
Lead. Leaders point the way. Like a light on a hill, they provide direction, reassurance, illumination of truth, and a desperately needed point of hope in an ever-darkening world. "You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand-shine!" Matthew 5:14-16 (Message)

Leader Bio:
Pastor Michael and Dona Ciociola have been Lead Pastors at Calvary Christian Center in Yuba City, CA since 1991. During this time the church has experienced continual and exciting growth and is rated in the top 5 churches in size and missions participation in the Northern California and Nevada District. Calvary Christian Center has mothered four new churches and has constructed each of these building projects, plus sent building teams to many countries for missions projects. Pastor leads with a heart for missions, both at home and around the world.
Pastor Ciociola has been asked to serve in many different roles throughout his ministry. Some of these include: Central Bible College Alumni President, Assemblies of God Graduate School Councilman, Northern Cal/Nevada Executive Finance Board Member, Northern Cal/Nevada World Missions Board Member, and Butte Sectional Presbyter and Executive Presbyter for Region VIII for the Northern Cal/Nevada District. Pastor Ciociola also serves as Auxiliary Chaplain at Beale AFB, is Chaplain for CAP Squadron 19 and has traveled to Iraq and Afghanistan to minister to our troops.
Dona has been involved in all aspects of ministry with emphasis on music and drama. In college she was a vocalist and accompanist for the Revivaltime Choir in Springfield, MO. Dona is also a credentialed educator having taught in both public and private schools.
Pastor and Dona treasure Godly family legacy. Their son, Michael and wife, Kjerstin, also minister at CCC on the pastoral team, and daughter, Michelle, serves on the audio team. Along with Michael/Kjerstin, Michelle and their children (who happen to be the most beautiful and gifted grandchildren on the planet), this makes up one wonderfully happy bunch. :-) They all look forward to every single meal “Papa and Nonna” prepare from Italian recipes handed down from generations. The fact that Pastor is an incredible chef has been a difficult secret to keep. :-)
