Queen's birthday Afternoon Tea
Festival on the weekend Friday 10 - Sunday 12 June 2016 to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday and her role as head of the Church of England.
We are holding a sumptuous afternoon tea served on the lawn (weather permitting) or in the hall of our Grade 2 listed church. Fresh sandwiches and homemade cakes, scones and lots of tea.
Musical accompaniment will be by the Reddish Choral Society. There will be a heritage display of the last 90 years of our parish. Tickets £5 on the door. Everyone welcome.

Mother's Union
Mothers' Union is an international Christian membership charity that aims to demonstrate the Christian faith in action through the transformation of communities worldwide. Our members are not all mothers, or even all women. They are single, married, parents, grandparents, or young adults just beginning to express their social conscience. Mothers' Union provides, for all four million members, a network through which they can serve Christ in their own community - through prayer, financial support and actively working at the grassroots level in programmes that meet local needs.

Lord Jesus, master of both the light and the darkness, send your Holy Spirit upon our preparations for Christmas. We who have so much to do seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day. We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us. We who are blessed in so many ways long for the complete joy of your kingdom. We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence. We are your people, walking in darkness, yet seeking the light. To you we say, "Come Lord Jesus!"
