Who we are
Christ the Servant King came into being when St Birinus Booker and St John's Desborough Road amalgamated to create a new church. Our parish is in the South-West area of High Wycombe.
Christ the Servant King is a lively, passionate and active church community in the South West of High Wycombe. The best way to get to know us is to get to know us... but if you'd like a brief outline of what we believe, read on:
What We Believe
We believe that God is real and good, and that we can know God through Jesus, through the bible and through his living spirit, breathed into our lives. We're part of the Church of England, and you can read more about what we believe here: Church of England Statement of Faith And we think that faith isn't just about what goes on in our heads and hearts. We think that faith and action go hand in hand - doing the good deeds that God has prepared in advance for us.
Our lives of faith are designed around five principles:
We put God, our maker, at the centre of our lives. We share the love of God with each other. We resolve to grow together as followers of the way of Jesus. We use our gifts and abilities to build the church. We use our gifts and abilities to share God's love with the world with our words and actions.
And we have seven core values that lay a foundation for how we operate:
The church is built on loving relationships. Every person matters to God. God has good news for us and everyone that we need to share in a way that people understand. God guides us today - through the bible, through His Spirit, through His people and more. Excellence and enthusiasm honour God and inspire people. Followers of Jesus serve using the gifts God has given them. Prayer is central to the life of the church and the life of each follower of Jesus.

May your light illuminate our hearts
Eternal God, this holy night is radiant with the brilliance of your one true light. May that light illuminate our hearts and shine in our words and deeds. May the hope, the peace, the joy, and the love represented by the birth in Bethlehem this night fill our lives and become part of all that we say and do. May we share the divine life of your son Jesus Christ, even as he humbled himself to share our humanity. Amen.
