Who we are
Church of The Open Door is an independent, non-denominational, evangelical Bible preaching church located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The church has a long history of expository preaching, a strong music ministry, and a vibrant Christian school – pre-K – 8th grade.
The church averages 300 on Sunday mornings and enjoys a blended style of worship from both our praise band and our full choir and orchestra. We also have a handbell choir, a brass ensemble, various quartets and solo performances all in honor to the Lord.
Christian education is at the heart of all that we do – beginning with the toddlers and moving on up through Sunday School, we strive to build a solid Christian foundation with people of all age groups Our youth ministry focuses on Bible teaching, leadership training, and evangelism (see youth section for more information).
On Wednesday nights, (September – April) we offer an exciting Awana ministry for children 3 years through 6th grade. In addition, there is an adult Bible study and prayer meeting.
Our church school, Open Door Christian Academy, serves those who desire a vibrant Christian education from pre-K – 8th grade. Since its beginning in 1975, ODCA stands as a beacon for Christ in the Philadelphia suburbs, and is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and MACSA – the Mid-Atlantic Christian Schools Association.
