Who we are
Clacton Christian Spiritualist Church extends a warm welcome to everyone who seeks truth, love and understanding.
This little church started its life in a garage at Victoria Gardens, Clacton-on-sea, Essex in the 1960's. Through the dedication of workers, enough money was eventually raised to purchase a plot of land - which was once stables - in Oxford Road . Through much hard work by special people, the present day church was built on that land in the early 1970's and was dedicated to the Loving God Power by the then Greater World Christian Spiritualist League. The first president was Mrs Church, who remained in office until the mid 80's. Recent Presidents include Mr Fred Lusher and Mrs Elsie Manlow. Our current president is Mrs Lily Cherrill.
We subscribe to and support the Greater World Christian Spiritualist Association beliefs:
I believe in one God who is Love.
I accept the Leadership of Jesus the Christ.
I believe that God manifests through the illimitable power of Holy Spirit.
I believe in the survival of the soul and its individuality after physical death.
I believe in Communion with God, with His angelic ministers and with souls functioning in conditions other than the earth life.
I believe that all forms of life created by God intermingle, are interdependent and evolve until perfection is attained.
I believe in the perfect justice of the Divine laws governing all life.
I believe that sins committed can only be rectified by the sinner himself or herself, through the redemptive power of Jesus the Christ, by repentance and service to others
