Who we are
Dutton and Iona Station Baptist Churches are two churches in the Municipality of Dutton/Dunwich that partner together in serving Christ and making his name known to our communities.
Our Calling
Dutton and Iona Station Baptist Churches exist to bring glory to God, to make known the name of Jesus, and to make committed, life-long followers of Jesus.
We do this by living out the Great Commandment to love God and neighbour in conjunction with living out the Great Commission to make disciples of Jesus.

Leader Bio:
Born and raised in Brantford ON, Michael is the youngest of 3 children. The greatest struggle Michael faced was a battle with testicular cancer in 2005 (not the reason he's bald, that's just good ol' genetics at work!). By the grace of God, through the prayers of many friends and family, and through many months of chemotherapy, Michael is now cancer free and has recently had his last ever visit with his oncologist.
Michael started at Dutton and Iona Station Baptist Churches in March 2010. He and his wife Rachel, moved to Dutton shortly after getting married in May 2010. Michael is a passionate preacher, calling the people of God to follow in his ways, not merely observing rules and rituals, but living their whole lives in conjunction with God’s ways.
Michael is a graduate of Tyndale University and McMaster Divinity College. Michael enjoys reading. You’ll often catch him reading the Puritans, along with other modern day writers. He is always on the lookout for new books to add to his ever-growing personal library. He is a self professed 'book geek.' Michael loves to read in order to share what he’s learning with other Christians in order to help them learn and grow in their faith and dependence on God.
When he’s not reading or doing other church related activities, you can find Michael at the local golf course, where he enjoys the company of fellow golfers while trying to improve his fledgling golf game. During the winter months (when he can’t golf) Michael enjoys spending time in his small home workshop where he enjoys cabinet making.
Next to his passion for preaching the Word of God and seeing people grow in their knowledge and love for God, and besides his love for his wife, Michael’s third great love is THE Ohio State Buckeyes football team. Every Saturday from September to November, Michael can be seen (and heard) cheering on his beloved Buckeyes.
Michael and Rachel have added a new member to their family. On Friday June 20, 2014, through adoption, Veronica Elizabeth became to newest member of the Nicholson household.

Youth Ministry
Our Youth Group (Grades 7-12) meets every Friday night at various locations (email to find out where). A typical meeting involves fun and games, as well as a time of hearing and learning from God’s Word. The goal of this ministry is to deepen our young people’s knowledge of God’s Word.
Our Bible teaching seeks to apply the message of the Bible to relevant issues that our youth face every day. We seek to equip our youth with the Christian teaching and grounding they need to be ‘salt and light’ in their schools.

Dutton Baptist Church History
Planted in 1876 by Rev. L. M. Randall, Dutton Baptist Church (DBC) has enjoyed a long and prosperous ministry. Originally meeting in the school house, the current building at 218 Miller Road was built in 1877 and has been a fixture on the corner every since.
Dutton Baptist Church has enjoyed a long legacy of ministry that continues to this day. Through our regular Sunday Morning Service, our Sunday School Program, yearly Vacation Bible School, our Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies, DBC seeks to meet the needs of all who attend. We also seek to out the Great Commission and Great Commandment by practically meeting the needs of our community, while seeking to bring more people into a life-long, loving relationship with our God.

Listen, my friend!
Listen, my friend! Your helplessness is your best prayer. It calls from your heart to the heart of God with greater effect than all your uttered pleas. He hears it from the very moment that you are seized with helplessness, and He becomes actively engaged at once in hearing and answering the prayer of your helplessness.
