History of Emmanuel United Church Kingsport

Emmanuel United Church, earlier known as the Congregational Church, was built in 1889. It continued to function in the Congregational tradition until June 10, 1925, when the United Church came into being. Then the Congregational Church at Kingsport was one of the fifteen Congregational Churches in Nova Scotia, which entered into the union. To day this church is a part of the Dominion-wide United Church family. A new vestry was added to the church in 1962. Ebenezer Cox gave land on which to build this church.

The power of Christian prayer When we stumble...
O Lord our God, Who has called us to serve You in the midst of the world's affairs, When we stumble, hold us; when we fall, lift us up. When we are hard pressed with evil, deliver us. When we turn from what is good, turn us back and bring us at last to Your glory.
