Who we are
What are our beliefs?
We believe the Word of God, the Bible, is the sole authority for the church. The Bible is the inspired word of God and is able to “…thoroughly furnish…” us to all good works (II Timothy 3:16-17). For this reason, we accept no creed of man or any other form of written or spoken word as being Divinely inspired. As the early converts of the church, we wear the name of Christ as His bride (Revelation 22:17). We accept that He is the head of the church, the body, that He purchased with His blood (Romans 12:4-5)
What must one do to be saved?
On this the Bible is clear. In holding fast to the Great Commission given in Matthew 28:19-20 & Mark 16:25-16, we teach the doctrine of salvation by baptism. The word baptism is transliterated from the Greek word baptizo, which translated means immersed or immersion. See the Matthew passage:
(Matt 28:19) Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: (Mat 28:20) teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. KJV
God’s Plan of Salvation is revealed in the Scripture above and the following Scriptures:
· You must HEAR the Word of God-Romans 10:17
· You must BELIEVE the Word of God and that Jesus is the Son of God-John 3:16
· You must REPENT of or turn from your sins-Acts 17:30
· You must CONFESS Christ as the Son of God-Romans 10:9-10
· You must be BAPTIZED for the remission of your sins-Acts 2:38, I Peter 3:21, Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12
· You must remain FAITHFUL-Revelation 2:10
Why do we have A cappella Singing?
The Findlay Church of Christ seeks to follow the Bible pattern set forth in the New Testament for music in worship. In following the Lord’s instructions and seeking to add nothing to His commands, we worship using no mechanical instruments. A cappella singing is the type of music you will find when you enter our worship services. This is based upon Ephesians 5:19-Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord and Colossians 3:16-Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Teach me
Teach me, O God, to use all the circumstances of my life to-day that they may bring forth in me the fruits of holiness rather than the fruits of sin. Let me use disappointment as material for patience: Let me use success as material for thankfulness: Let me use suspence as material for perseverance: Let me use danger as material for courage: Let me use reproach as material for longsuffering: Let me use praise as material for humility: Let me use pleasures as material for temperance: Let me use pains as material for endurance.
