Who we are

We are an independent Baptist Church that seeks to glorify God and edify His people. Our mission is to help people find and follow Jesus.

Whether you are new to the Opelika area or a long-time resident, we love seeing how God’s Word meets the needs in the lives of new friends.

Our people are friendly, and the atmosphere of our services is designed to display reverence for God. We earnestly endeavor to bring people face to face with God’s Word through traditional Gospel hymns and Biblical preaching.

Our new church building is complete and we are more than excited to gather there!

We would love to have you come and visit us!

Heritage Baptist Church Q&A

Question: What are the services like?

Answer: Each service provides an opportunity for you to connect and grow closer to God through inspiring music, practical preaching, and a friendly atmosphere.

Our services last about one hour. Our desire is to turn our focus toward God because worship is for His glory, not our own.

Service Times:
Sunday School 10:00 AM
Worship Service 11:00 AM
Sunday Evening 5:00 PM
Wednesday Evening 6:30 PM

*Nursery / Children’s ministry provided

Question: Where do I park and enter the building?

Answer: At our new church building we have parking reserved for visitors, seniors, and the handicapped in front of the building, with additional parking to either side of the building.

The main entrance is in the front, central part of the building.

Question: What is Sunday School like?

Answer: Sunday school at 10:00 on Sunday morning is a time to learn God’s Word in smaller groups where you can build relationships. We have Sunday School classes for all ages: Nursery, Preschool, Children, Youth, College & Career, and Adults. We will occasionally change it up and have split men’s and ladies classes, or have combined classes when we have a missionary or special speaker.

Greeters will direct you to the classes that work best for your family members.

Question: Where do I take my infant or toddler?

Answer: At every service there are safe, clean, well-equipped rooms and well-trained staff and volunteers to care for children.

Greeters can direct you to the nursery.

Question: Where do I take my children?

Answer: From start to finish, we strive to make your families’ time with us a great experience! We seek to make this your child’s favorite day of the week. We use skilled volunteers, technology, fun activities, and excellent environments to communicate the timeless knowledge of our loving God. We believe this makes our kids’ ministry a place your child will be asking you to bring them back to each week. Classes take place during our Sunday morning worship service and Wednesday evening service. Sunday evening, elementary age children worship with their parents in the main auditorium.

Greeters can direct you to the children’s ministry area.

Question: What should I wear?

Answer: We understand that every church is unique, and guests usually don’t like to be suprised. We hope this information will be of help. On Sundays we still like to wear our “Sunday Best”. Many of our men will wear jackets and ties (or casual pants and a dress shirt), and most of our ladies wear dresses. In the mid-week service many of our men will wear casual pants and a golf style shirt, and our ladies will wear skirts and blouses. We want our guests to feel comfortable when attending our services, so please understand that there is no dress code. Come and join us this Sunday. You will feel right at home as our guest this weekend.

Question: Will I be expected to give anything?

Answer: No. Each week at Heritage Baptist Church there is a time to worship God through the giving of tithes and offerings. This is an act of worship for the members of our church. As a guest, please do not feel any pressure to participate.
