Who we are
Lenexa United Methodist Church has the hospitality and warmth of a small church and the programs of a larger congregation. A part of the Lenexa community since 1869, LUMC is committed to being a faithful witness to God’s kingdom in Johnson County.
We consecrated a new education building to house our preschool and children’s ministries. We serve our Lenexa neighbors through partnership with Sunflower Elementary School and various outreach ministries. We welcome all who join us in worship and service. Purpose
We know and love God,
revealed in Jesus Christ, through worship, study and service.
We follow Jesus
in loving neighbors and working for a just society.
We are the Body of Christ,
an inviting, welcoming, caring, growing, inclusive community; joyfully supported by prayer, presence, gifts, service and witness.

Lenexa United Methodist Church Service Times
Sunday Worship
8:00 a.m.
During the summer (from Father’s Day through the last Sunday of August), the Park Players lead Worship in the Park, at the gazebo at Sar-Ko-Par Park, southeast of 87th Street and Lackman. Bring a lawn chair for this informal service.
9:00 a.m
The Spirit Singers lead a more contemporary service. The youth often sit together towards the front of the sanctuary
10:30 a.m.
The traditional service includes the Chancel Choir and grand organ music. A children’s moment is included in this service.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of month at each of the services, and also on the third Sunday of the month at the 9:00 a.m. service. As a United Methodist congregation, all who desire to follow Jesus are invited to receive the bread and cup. Because we believe that God in Christ is the host at the table, children and non-members are welcome to participate in the sacrament.

Help my unbelief
Dear God, help my unbelief. When I'm in pain, I forget that you care about me. I forget that you have helped me through my trials. I forget that you hold me in your arms to keep me safe. I forget that you are feeling my pain with me. I forget that you love me, I forget that I am important to you. Show me your presence - let me feel your enveloping love. Heal my hurting soul. Thank you for staying with me even in my unbelief.
