Marley United Methodist Church History
Marley United Methodist, "The Small Church with the Big Heart," has been serving the Glen Burnie community since 1935. We identify ourselves as a family church, a place to call home, where we can build relationships with God and with one another.
We have created and currently support local outreach efforts to feed the hungry and care for the poor. We are particularly concerned with children and reach out to them through ongoing food and clothing drives, as well as through financial contributions and Christmas packages including books, clothes, and toys.
We are also a "singing church": we love music, especially gospel music, traditional hymns and upbeat songs. All ages participate: from a ten-year-old girl playing violin, to a father-and-daughter team playing guitar and singing, to our adult choir and soloists. You name it, and we'll put it to music! As the Bible says, "Make a joyful noise to the Lord all the earth."
We meet for weekly worship every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. with children's class at 9:15 a.m., and we enjoy fellowship afterwards. We seek healing and personal growth in our daily lives, and we support one another spiritually and emotionally. We pray for each other and offer classes that help us to know God and to deepen our spiritual lives.
ALL are welcome! We do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, background or sexual orientation. Please contact us and let us know how we can better serve you and our community.
