Mission Statement
Welcome to New Hope Church, Hilo Hawaii! We count it a privilege to have you stop by our site. If we could sum up what our church is all about, it would be two things: Jesus and people. Our heart is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that people would come to know who God is, and what He longs to do in their lives.
As our mission statement says: “The purpose of New Hope is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that turns non-Christians into converts, converts into disciples, and disciples into mature, fruitful leaders, who will in turn go into the world and reach others for Christ.” It is what drives us and moves us to do what we do, so come and join our New Hope Church family.

Leader Bio:
Pastor Sheldon and Heidi began attending New Hope in 1990. Shortly after, they started serving in the youth ministry together. They continued to serve in various ministries for 11 years and then began an 8 year transition moving Pastor Sheldon and Heidi into the role of Senior Pastor in May of 2009.
Pastor Sheldon's heart is to connect every generation in their love for Jesus. As he instills hope in the dreams of our younger generations, he recognizes the value of our kupuna (seniors) and their wisdom needed to guide our future leaders. He enjoys paddle boarding and is a very gifted and talented artist.
Heidi is a small business owner creating unique country-chic gifts and crafts. She loves horses and looks forward to the day she and Pastor Sheldon own a ranch. She is also an excellent cook and loves to garden.
Pastor Sheldon and Heidi have two sons, Justin and Jordan. They are also the grandparents to Jayden, Landen and Oakley.

BABIES
A baby’s cry room is available to nursing mothers, or mothers who wish to sit with their infants and still be a part of the service. Enter through the Nursery and you will find a comfortable private room where you can view the services.
CLASSES FOR ALL AGES
We have Youth and Children's Ministry available for all ages during Sunday and Wednesday services! A nursery is connected to our sanctuary and staffed with loving volunteers to care for you baby during our services. See our Children through Young Adults page for more information here.
DINE WITH US
Join us for a meal and snacks in the Fellowship Hall. Breakfast is available for purchase on Sundays from 7:00am to 12:00pm. Dinner is available for dine-in on Wednesdays from 5:15pm to 6:15pm for $3.00. The Well serves an assortment of snacks and beverages. Each option provides a great atmosphere for talking to others while filling an empty stomach.
RESOURCE CENTER
The New Hope Resource Center is located in the Fellowship Hall. We have bibles and literature to help you in your walk with the Lord. The Resource Center is open from 8:15am through 12:00pm on Sundays and before and after services on Wednesdays.
PRAYER
If you need prayer, our prayer team is available before and after services, in the Prayer Room which is located on the right side of the sanctuary. You can also submit a prayer request form here: https://www.newhopehilo.org/forms/prayer-request

Filipino Ministry
If you have family or friends that speak Ilocano, we have a Filipino ministry that holds services every Sunday at 7:00pm in our Mighty Marvels wing. The entire service is given in Ilocano and led by Pastor Julian & Evelyn Agub.

Dear God, help my unbelief. When I'm in pain, I forget that you care about me. I forget that you have helped me through my trials. I forget that you hold me in your arms to keep me safe. I forget that you are feeling my pain with me. I forget that you love me, I forget that I am important to you. Show me your presence - let me feel your enveloping love. Heal my hurting soul. Thank you for staying with me even in my unbelief.
