Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament History
The early Catholic parishioners in the area of Gosnells attended Mass in the hall behind the Gosnells Hotel. In 1917 the Parish of Gosnells, Armadale and Jarrahdale was formed and Father O'Grady was the first parish priest. He had St Munchin's Church, a timber and iron building, erected on a site on Albany Highway, close to the river. It was named after the first bishop of Fr O'Grady's home town, Limerick, in Ireland. St Munchin's was consecrated by Bishop Clune in 1919. The parish did not develop as expected and struggled for a number of years with low membership. In 1922 the parish was abolished and Gosnells Catholics, like their Anglican counterparts, were visited by clergy from Queens Park.
During the 1940s, with an increase in population, the congregation began to grow. St Munchin's Primary School was established and a Presbytery was built. Over the subsequent years, as the parish of Gosnells continued to grow and the number of Catholics increased, the need for a larger church was apparent. Besides a new church, the school needed to be extended. The parish was able to obtain some more land and on 10 November 1963, the first Mass was celebrated in the new Church on Albany Highway. The church was dedicated to Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament. The old wooden church was relocated behind the new church and used as an additional classroom for the school.
By the 1970s another new site had to be found to cater for the expansion of the church and school population. A new primary school and a second Church of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament were built in Corfield Street. On 15th August 1979 Archbishop Lancelot John Goody consecrated and dedicated the second Church of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament on our present site. Not long after the wooden building of St Munchin's Church was relocated to the new site and was used as a meeting room for the school and parish. The first church of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament and St Munchin's old school were bought by the City of Gosnells and used to house meeting rooms and the public library.

God's Promise
Jesus gave His life so that you do not have to carry your burden. He knows this burden hinders you from having eternal life. He knows your sin burden hinders you from living the abundant life that God created you to live. He knows your sin hinders you from experiencing joy and peace that has no bounds and hinders you from receiving all that God has promised and created you to receive.
You just have to ask.
