Who we are
Peace Church is a Christian church committed to being & becoming more like Jesus and helping our neighbors know God. We do this through Christ centered opportunities of worship, connection, growth, and service.
We are a diverse group of people, made up of many different ages, backgrounds, and even languages. Each week we have different worship services and ministries in English, Laotian, and American Sign Language! Our worship services and ministries are all "come as you are" kind of events, so feel free to "come as you are"!
Peace Church is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America, (www.rca.org) a Christian denomination that has relationships with the Presbyterian, Lutheran, and United Church of Christ.
The word "REFORMED" comes from the historical time of the "Reformation", when people like Martin Luther and John Calvin sought to reform the church of their day to be more faithful to God's Word. During this period, there were five Latin phrases used to describe the movement that later gave birth to a reformed understanding of the Christian faith. These were:
Sola gratia: We are saved by GRACE alone.
...Our salvation is an unearned gift from God for Jesus' sake.
Sola fide: We are made right with God by FAITH alone. ... We are justified, or "made right" with God through faith, not by works.
Sola scriptura: We find ultimate truth in SCRIPTURE alone. ... The Old & New Testaments of the Bible are the only inspired Word of God.
Solus Christus: Our hope is found in CHRIST alone. ... Jesus Christ is the only mediator, or "bridge", between God and mankind.
Soli Deo gloria: Glory and praise for our salvation are given to GOD alone. ... We obey and serve God out of gratitude for all that He is and all He has done.
