Who we are
Elvington Chapel is found in the center of the semi rural village of Elvington. The chapel has known many recreational uses over the years and has provided a central point for people from the times of the old Tilminstone colliery to today as a place of Christian pentecostal worship. There is ample parking on the grounds as well as on the roads nearby.
Mission Statement
To impact hearts, build relationships and change lives through the power of the gospels in honour of his eternal glory making him known and bringing his salvation to all peoples.
Values
The world presents us with many modern day challenges both what can and what can't be said according to the word, whats right seem to be becoming whats wrong, just as good seems to be called bad and whats bad is good. Two things primarily came through Jesus the Christ, that being grace and truth. The truth is there so you can come to know your sin and be challenged with it. Grace is there to help you deal with your sin and for you to know that you have the time and patience of a heavenly father who's grace can not be measured.
We believe that church should be a grace house where there is no condemnation and you are free to be around an encouraging spiritual family that not only want to see you come to know and experience the truth but want to see you blossom and grow with Jesus as your foundation and your rock.
I regard Christian life as bing a bit like a palm tree. If you ever have seen or watched a storm, hurricane or tsunami you see that all things get washed away, man made structures everything and all that tends to be left are palm trees on the beech. See palm trees are amazing they can bend in all different directions they are truly incredibly flexible however when the storm comes, palm trees have very deep routes. When your foundation is Jesus and that is what you stand upon you can go into any storm and be more than an overcomer. But just like a palm tree and us trying to be a grace house we will never deviate from what the gospels proclaim and teach us.
Vision
Whatever vision we could come up with, Gods vision will always be bigger. We choose not to emphasise on what could be done but more what he is going to do. The fields are rich at the moment and ready for harvest, but the labours are very few. Our vision for you is that you might come to know him and in doing so you will come to know who you truly are and what he has done and is going to do for you.

Pentecostal Church History
In 2014, When I had completed a task for the lord which I had been faithful in and had finished. I was praying and felt that I was going to be given something new to do. I was looking for a sign or for this new adventure tu be be placed before me. Then after a telephone call in 2016, I had heard of a place that I knew as a child where I was told that the by the person I was speaking to had been and that there was a beautiful free presence of the spirit of God.
I was still praying and felt that I should go and sample this Sr myself. I remember walking through the doors just after llarn and expecting that I would struggle to find a seat. What I discovered was only around 6 people in attendance.
I made my hello's and the service continued. There was m old disk recorder being used which had some lovely old hymns, I just started singing and within that instant I felt his presence. A gentle presence, so lovely. I then felt that this is what I should be a part of, as that something I had been praying about had been reveled.
I began encouraging as much as the lord aloud to help the leadership in any way possible. I designed Sr them a website and began talking to them about doing IMPACT SERVICES tm try and encourage as many people possible to come in to fellowship with us. So they could come to know Jesus and find salvation through him.
We then hit a number of challenges. The retired pastor whom had a been at the church for around 40 years Sr longer became il and died. The then former current pastor three Sr four months later also died. The next guy whom was in line for leadership decided it was to much, and really and wanted to let the place go.
I already had in my heart a zeal that if that was to happen that I will take over leadership of the chapel as the lord leads. The gentlemen whom wanted to let the place go decided to leave the church altogether. Sr here we are at the end of 2017 and going into 2018.
I believe that to see things with earthly eyes you would think whets going on. But we that are left there have spiritual eyes and we stand on the word of God. For he makes all things work together for good, for those that are called to his purposes. We are believing that the best is yet to come.
