Who we are
Rye Baptist Church - What we believe and why
We base our beliefs on the Bible and we accept it as the final authority on matters of life and faith.
The Bible teaches, and we believe: that humankind was designed by God to be in relationship with Him. That relationship has been severed because of sin, but because He loves people so much, God has provided a way back. that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, lived a sinless life and died on our behalf making it possible for those who place their trust in Him to be reunited with God - as His death satisfies God’s requirement for sin to be dealt with. in the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit - one God. that the Holy Spirit gives the power to live a godly life and that He is gradually transforming those who follow Christ into Christ’s likeness. that Jesus Christ will personally return to earth at the close of the present age to establish God’s Kingdom and rule over it . that those who die having placed their faith in Him will go to be with Him and will ultimately share in Christ’s good rule of His kingdom on earth.
We think that this is the best news any person could ever receive, and we are committed to sharing it with our local community in whatever relevant ways we can.

Rye Baptist Church Service Times
Our main service is at 10.45am on a Sunday and is a relaxed time of worship and teaching, with a mix of contemporary and traditional music from our gifted team of musicians. There are facilities for children and young people so that the whole family can worship and learn together. Afterwards we stay and chat over a cup of tea or coffee in the lounge - a good time to catch up with old friends and maybe make some new ones!
Mid week there are house groups in various members’ homes and you would be most welcome to join one of these groups - there will be one that is just right for you, so talk to us about that when you next visit.
On a Thursday morning from Spring to Christmas we open for Coffee Plus - a popular opportunity to share God’s love by means of drinks and home made cakes at very reasonable prices!
We have level access to our food and drink service area and stair lifts to toilets so customers with disabilities are particularly welcome.
Friday mornings see our Butterfly Club for carers and toddlers - a safe Christian environment for little ones, and a chance for grown ups to talk and, if appropriate, receive pastoral care.
OASIS meets on the fourth Friday of each month from 3-5pm. It’s a place where those who have suffered loss can meet together, laugh and cry together, and find help and encouragement from others who have walked the same path.
It's been more than 9 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.

The way, the truth, and the life
Lord Jesus, thou who art the way, the truth, and the life; hear us as we pray for the truth that shall make all free. Teach us that liberty is not only to be loved but also to be lived. Liberty is too precious a thing to be buried in books. It costs too much to be hoarded. Help us see that our liberty is not the right to do as we please, but the opportunity to please to do what is right.
