Who we are
St Anne's is the Parish Church of Bagshot, Surrey.
Our worship style is middle-of-the-road Church of England. About a third of our congregation come from outside the parish, because they like our welcome and our style.
As you will see from the tab below, during the course of a month we hold a variety of different services ranging from All Age Worship to the Communion Service in the 1662 prayer book via morning prayer, evensong and Parish Communion.
Our church is about 130 years old. It is a beautiful building with some excellent stained glass and is a superb example of Victorian neo-gothic architecture. More recently we added behind it a new Church Centre that provides us with a function room, toilets to modern expectations, a Parish Office and a kitchen.
We are child-friendly and provide a play area with books and toys in both the church and the centre for those who find that they cannot sit through a whole service. Nappy-changing facilities are also available.
For those who are enduring disabilities, we have level access to the church and centre, an induction-loop hearing system and a toilet for the semi-ambulant.
As Bagshot's Parish Church we serve the whole community and welcome all. We have an open policy for baptisms and marriages. You do not need to be a regular member of our congregation to get married here, have your children baptised, or your loved one's funeral service here.

Sunday School / Children and Youth Activities
Under 12s:
Services for Children
Parents with children are welcome at all our services. There are a variety of toys and books for children of all ages both at the back of church and in the Church Centre.
Junior Church
Children start in the main church service, either sitting with their parents or with others at the front, then move through to the Church Centre for their own structured activities shortly after the service starts. They return just before the end of the service.
All Age Worship and Family Communion
On the first Sunday in the month we have either an "All Age Worship" service or "Family Communion" at 10am. These are more informal services that are suitable for all ages. They include hymns accompanied on the piano rather than the organ. They are also of shorter length than the services held at this time on other weeks.
You don't have to have been Confirmed to attend the Family Communion service. If you do not wish to take Communion you are welcome to receive a blessing, or to remain in your seat.
Age Worship is not a communion service.
Tea Time Service.
Our Tea Time service is held at 4pm on the second and fourth Sundays each month.
This service is specifically geared towards families and adults who prefer a more informal worship style. Â

Other information
St Anne History
St Anne's Church is about 130 years old, built in the hey-day of Victorian church building to a neo-gothic style. Bagshot had separated from Windlesham village to become its own ecclesiastical parish in 1874 and the Church was built ten years later, largely with the patronage of Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught, who lived near-by in Bagshot Park. It was consecrated in April 1884.
The attractive building is red brick with stone detail under a slate roof. There is a bell tower with a peal of 8 bells. It is grade II listed and situated in a conservation area.
A new Church Centre was built behind the church in 2005/6 and formally opened by the Bishop of Guildford in June 2006.
It provides meeting space, facilities for the Sunday School, toilets, kitchen and office.
The building has been designed to reflect the style of the church construction and its facilities are fully accessible. It is joined to the main church by a glazed lobby.
No one knows why our church has St Anne as its Patron Saint. The village had a chapel dedicated to St Anne before the present church was built, and it is assumed that the name was carried over to the new building on its new site. In addition to the main altar, there is a second altar forming what is known as the 'Stuart Chapel' in memory of an early vicar of the parish.

God's Promise
Jesus gave His life so that you do not have to carry your burden. He knows this burden hinders you from having eternal life. He knows your sin burden hinders you from living the abundant life that God created you to live. He knows your sin hinders you from experiencing joy and peace that has no bounds and hinders you from receiving all that God has promised and created you to receive.
You just have to ask.
