Who we are
Cill Tiobraid means ‘the Church of the Well’. There are two churches in the parish, St. Brigid’s, Drumcong and St. Joseph’s, Rantogue. St. Brigid’s was originally built in 1781 and closed in 1974, to be replaced by a pre-cast, flat roofed, modern style church. Fr. Michael Rigney, who was parish priest from 1991 until his death in 2001, spearheaded the restoration of the old St. Brigid’s. It was re-dedicated by Bishop Colm O’Reilly in 1995. St. Joseph’s Rantogue, ‘the Mountain Chapel’, was built in 1909. The parish school is St. Brigid’s N.S., Keshcarrigan.
