St. Clare of Assisi History
Saint Clare of Assisi Catholic Church was formally established on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. The geographical boundaries of the parish encompass Daniel Island and the Cainhoy peninsula. Our current 2,300 members live within the parish as well as Mount Pleasant, North Charleston, Hanahan, Goose Creek, and Summerville. Most members moved to the Charleston area from other parts of the world. We range in age from infants to 90+ years of age with the majority being between the ages of eight and sixty-five years. We worship in the ancient and traditional style of the Catholic Church in a way that is both solemn and comfortable with great emphasis placed on congregational participation. We take our roles in Christian discipleship seriously as we joyfully live and share the Gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ. We like to party, too.
Make me stand out
Father, make of me a crisis man. Bring those I contact to decision. Let me not be a milepost on a single road; make me a fork, that men must turn one way or another on facing Christ in me.
