Who we are
Welcome to the parish
of West Hayes
Why are we here?
To bring the Good News to our community.
Jesus said “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”- John 3:16.
Knowing Jesus means that our sins (our wrong actions) past, present and even future have been forgiven. This provides us with a real experience of His love and power, transforming our lives day by day.
How is this possible? Well, Jesus came to earth to show us how to live – but he also came to die, taking God’s punishment for our sins. God accepted this sacrifice and raised Jesus from the dead!
The good news is that although we are separated from God, because of our wrongdoing (what the Bible calls sin) GOD HAS MADE A WAY for us to know Him.
God the Father sent his Son Jesus for us. Jesus lived a perfect life, but died a criminal's death on the cross. Jesus died - an innocent man - to take the blame for our sin. God the Father accepted the sacrifice of his only Son so that we could be forgiven.
Believing in Jesus is an act of faith. It is trusting him to forgive us for our sins and choosing to turn from our old ways of life.
