Who we are
St. John’s, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, has been a place of welcome and worship since 1753. St. John’s not only has a rich history in the Anglican tradition, we also have a Vision for what God is calling the parish to be and do in the 21st Century. The Parish is a community of caring people who gather to worship and praise God in Common Prayer. We seek to look beyond the walls of the church and make a difference for good in the community and world. The parish provides a number of Christian education activities for children and adults.
"To all who mourn or need comfort,
To all who are weary and need rest,
To all who seek friendship,
To all who desire to grow in relationship with God
To all who yearn to pray,
To all who need a Saviour, And to all whoever will worship,
This Church of St. John’s opens wide its doors
and in the name of Christ our Lord, says - WELCOME."

Give me a steadfast heart
Give me, O Lord, a steadfast heart which no unworthy thought can drag downwards; an unconquered heart which no tribulation can wear out; an upright heart which no unworthy purpose may tempt aside. Bestow upon me also, O Lord my God, understanding to know you, diligence to seek you, wisdom to find you, and a faithfulness that may finally embrace you; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
