Who we are
At St. John's, we have a mission, and that mission is to follow Jesus and to live as He lived, reaching out to our community with His love. We are called by God to worship and give thanks to Him through the Holy Eucharist, what many churches call Holy Communion.
We also believe that God has called us to witness to the good news of Christ crucified, telling the world this Gospel message: that Christ came to earth as a human being, that He lived, and died, and rose again, so that we could be saved from our sins. And we also believe that God has called us to express our individual gifts of the Holy Spirit, whatever those gifts may be that the Holy Spirit has blessed us with for a season or for our whole lives.
One way that we at St. John's live out our mission is by supporting the local Richfield Springs food bank. Every month, we gather non-perishable food items and monetary gifts and deliver them to the food bank. We are blessed to be a part of this ministry that helps to feed our hungry brothers and sisters in the area.

St. John's Episcopal Church Q&A
Question: What to expect on a Sunday?
Answer: Our worship is based on the practices of the early church. We come together and begin with singing. We hear the word of God and then our pastor explains what we've heard. We then share the peace of God with each other and offer our praises and gifts. We follow that with our celebration of the Eucharist, a Greek word meaning "thanksgiving," where we give thanks to God for sending His Son to die for us so that we could be reconciled to Him. We do this through Holy Communion.
