Who we are
St Luke’s has been part of the Wadestown Community for 130 years and in the 21st century we are still a thriving and busy parish. We strive to accommodate a range of different perspectives and needs – from children’s (and their parents) to older adults. We acknowledge that people experience God in different ways so we make room for this in our worship and other activities. We are a social group and hold a range of social events both for St Luke’s and the wider community throughout the year.
At St Luke’s we enjoy the wonderful range of Christian music that is available in the 21st century from traditional hymns to modern compositions.
We are fortunate to have a pipe organ built by the Bishop of London in 1878. It is capably played by Paul Rosoman. The organ is used to accompany congregational singing and the choir. Paul usually also plays before and after the Sunday service.
On a typical Sunday you will also hear the sound of a rock band emanating from the church. At full strength the band includes acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitar, drums, keyboards and vocals. Under the leadership of Roger Falloon the band accompanies congregational singing of contemporary songs.

Empower me
Empower me to be a bold participant, rather than a timid saint in waiting; to exercise authority of honesty, rather than to defer to power or deceive to get it; to influence someone for justice, rather than impress anyone for gain; and by grace, to find treasures of joy, of friendship, of peace hidden in the fields you give me daily to plow.
