St Mary the virgin, Stanwell, is a traditional Parish Church. We meet regularly for prayer and worship, made up of people like you who have met in our beautiful building for over 800 years of continuous witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
When you join us for Mass on a Sunday you can expect to be greeted and receive a warm welcome by our sides people who will be happy to help you in any way they can. The main act of worship on a Sunday is the Parish Mass which starts at 11:00. This is the modern rite with Hymns (both old and new), accompanied by our wonderful Compton Extension Organ.
The preaching at the Parish Mass is short, relevant and inspiring - you’ll leave bigger, stronger and a more effective person than when you arrived. Services last approximately 60 minutes. After the service enjoy coffee and a chat in the Parish Room, an opportunity for you to meet interesting and great people.
Are there facilities for my children? Yes - St Mary the Virgin, Stanwell has a Sunday School which caters for children aged 3-11yrs. This takes place in the church building during the Parish Mass. The children join the adults in church for communion.
Can I come along to see what it’s all about? Absolutely yes! We recognise that many people want to explore the Christian faith but don’t know where to start. Just come along and join us! We would love to see you!
Is there parking? Yes - free parking is available on the streets around the church and village. We do encourage you to be considerate of our neighbours of course :)
