Who we are
We’re a church in the heart of Kelburn, Wellington, at the edge of Victoria University
St Michael’s is an Anglican church, located between the main campus of Victoria University of Wellington and Kelburn village. Mostly, we're students, academics, and graduates (and their kids!), who value being in a community of like-minded Christian pilgrims. We aim for an ancient–future vibe, which means we find the centuries of Christian thought and devotion help us navigate the complexities of twenty-first century life.
The heart of our life together is Sunday worship. During the pandemic, these happen online.

St Michael and All Angels Service Times
Worship at St Michael’s
Two main worship services happen at St Michael’s. Here we glimpse the beauty of the God revealed as Trinity, and are formed as followers of Christ.
Our 9am service is warm, intimate and reflective. We use the Anglican liturgy from the New Zealand Prayer Book and share communion together. One Sunday a month (usually the third), the organ is played, and we sing classic hymns.
Our 10.30am service is vibrant and friendly, combining old and new forms in music, liturgy and preaching. Sunday School classes begin in church before heading out for their own programme. Youth group happens at the same time as the main service.
It's been more than 3 years since the last service times update. Please make sure to contact the church to confirm service times.
