Bellringers Practice
Barrowden St Peters, has a ring of six much complimented bells. The Tenor being approximately 503kg (9cwt-3qr-17lbs).
Circa 1550 there was a ring of five bells and a small Priest's Bell was added in 1786. There is some indication that the Tenor may have been sold in 1605, with a ring of five being recreated during 1706.
In 1915 the then Treble, second and Tenor were recast and the five bells were rehung in a metal high sided frame each with an east / west orientation. A new Treble was cast in 1990 and added to the frame to make the current ring of six.
Since early 2012, a dedicated band of local learners have been meeting regularly throughout the year to refine their skills enabling them to ring for special church services such as Easter, Christmas, Remembrance Sunday, christenings, weddings and funerals.
