Who we are
At the 2015 Parish AGM, it was agreed that all is working well and so it was decided we continue to operate in the same manner. In February, 2011 the Bashaw Lutheran Parish moved forward in a contractual partnership with the Edberg/New Norway Lutheran Parish --- sharing the ministry of Rev. Jeff Decelle. In July, he resigned and was called to to serve in Medicine Hat, AB. We are presently being served by Interim Pastor Julianna Wehrfritz-Hanson residing in Camrose, AB, in the same arrangement - two parishes being served half time per parish. At St.Peter's we continue with bi-monthly worship services with Holy Communion, offer pastoral care and visitations, benevolence to the Synod and donations to local charitable groups and/or CLWR. On a fifth Sunday month, one of the four congregations hosts a Communion Service, potluck lunch and great fellowship. Overall, we have been blessed. The way, the truth, and the life
Lord Jesus, thou who art the way, the truth, and the life; hear us as we pray for the truth that shall make all free. Teach us that liberty is not only to be loved but also to be lived. Liberty is too precious a thing to be buried in books. It costs too much to be hoarded. Help us see that our liberty is not the right to do as we please, but the opportunity to please to do what is right.
