Rice and Beans Ministry
The 3rd Saturday of every month we open our doors for a special mission to serve the needy. We give away rice and beans. along with non-perishable items and cat and dog food, as available.
This ministry started several years ago with just the giving of a rice and beans but has grown into a food pantry and a continental breakfast. On any given month we serve 25 to 40 families.
JEANuary
In January, we collect money and/or gently used men's jeans to donate to Los Pobres in Avondale, for migrant workers.
August/September
We collect school supplies and backpacks for children in our community.
November
We take up a collection and purchase Thanksgiving meals for the less fortunate.
December
We collect gloves, hats, and scarves on a giving tree to donate to those in need.
