Welcome to the Temple of Metaphysical Science, NSAC
It is the Mission of the Temple of Metaphysical Science, a chartered church of the National Spiritualist Association of Churches, to teach and proclaim the science, philosophy and religion of Spiritualism, which is the religion of continuous life, based on the demonstrated fact of communication, by means of mediumship, with those who live in the spirit world.
We encourage lectures on all subjects pertaining to our spiritual and secular welfare. We do not compel, urge or advocate any attempts by or to another person to worship God in any particular or prescribed manner. We advocate and promote spiritual healing. We protect and encourage spiritual teachers and mediums, who are followers of the light, in their efforts to prove the continuity of life. We encourage all people to keep an open mind as growing thought and investigation reveal new truths. We believe in personal responsibility. We believe that all individuals should be free to follow their hearts and minds in spiritual as well as secular matters, provided they remember to act with the highest, best and truest intent in any given situation.

Rev. Ruiz is not only a National Spiritualist Teacher (NST) but is also a Certified Medium and has been with the Temple of Metaphysical Science since 1995. In the past, as a student Minister, Rev. Ruiz served our spiritual home as part of our Ministerial Committee.and has led membership unfoldment classes, and has devoted much time to inspire us through his Sermons.
Rev. Ruiz's experience within the Temple of Metaphysical Science over the years encourages a wonderful spiritual environment and we are honored to have him!

Temple of Metaphysical Science History
The TMS was the first Spirirtualist church on Long Island, founded by the Rev. Edna Claussen in 1956. The TMS was granted a charter form the National Spritiualualist Association of Churches (NSAC) in 1984.
Church services were held in Rev. Claussen's West Babylon apartment until the congregation outgrew that space in 1986. Services have been held each Sunday in a rented hall in Patchogue, NY since that time, first at the Masonic Temple on 15 Oak Street, and now in the American Legion Hall on Baker Street.
