Who we are
We put others needs before our own. Our doors are open to ALL, the poor and the wealthy, all races and genders, the weary or the family looking for guidance. For when they enter, may we show the teachings of Jesus Christ, not with our words but with our actions as good, honest, caring human beings and Christians. We are small but we are mighty with the Lord Jesus Christ as our driving force and guide to a brighter future.

Trinity UCC History
On June 12, 1887 a group of German speaking people gathered in a store to discuss the possibilities of organizing a Lutheran congregation in Gowanda. In 1888 a building was erected for worship with a back room, at our present site. The men helped to build the church and the total cost of it was approximately $2,000.
Today we are still using the same church building, windows and pews. Additions to the building took place in 1922, 1937 and 1966 and the chancel was remodeled twice. We have also remodeled the church basement due to the Flood of 2009.
Because of the flood in August 2009, many of our church records were lost. Thanks to our members and the community we have been able to start to piece together many of our records and memories.
Trinity Church has had many ecumenical relationships over the years. We are dedication to church includes: a concern for worship; the sacraments and music; involvement in the life of the community; a friendly and caring people; a commitment to mission to proclaim the Good News and peace and justice for all peoples.
As the Trinity family look to the future we remember with gratitude our precious heritage and the faith of those who went before us. We affirm our trust in God our Creator, we appropriate the grace and blessings of Christ, our Redeemer and we anticipate the encouragement and empowerment of the Holy Spirit, our Sustainer.

Help my unbelief
Dear God, help my unbelief. When I'm in pain, I forget that you care about me. I forget that you have helped me through my trials. I forget that you hold me in your arms to keep me safe. I forget that you are feeling my pain with me. I forget that you love me, I forget that I am important to you. Show me your presence - let me feel your enveloping love. Heal my hurting soul. Thank you for staying with me even in my unbelief.
