Who we are
We are a group of friendly people of all ages and backgrounds united by the desire to worship God. We hope you will make contact with us by any of the means detailed on this website or by coming to one of our services where you will be assured of a warm welcome.
Although the Chapel does not belong to any particular denomination it has always maintained an evangelical, balanced, mainstream Christian position since its beginning in 1865 when associated with Tewkesbury Baptist Church.
What We Believe
As Christians, what we believe is a vital part of who we are and how we live our lives. Below is a brief summary of our beliefs:
We believe the Bible to be true - its authority and sufficiency as not only containing but being itself the Word of God
We believe the Bible teaches God has made us, and it is our privilege to worship Him.
We also believe that though we have turned our backs on Him, He is waiting to show His love and mercy to us so that we can return to Him
He has sent His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ into the world to save us and at His death on the cross, He bore our sins. On believing in Him, we are promised eternal life and by trusting Him, we can be reconciled to God, have peace with Him and assurance of a home with Him in heaven.

You are...
You are the shade in the heat, You are shelter in the cold, You are eyes to the blind, You are a staff to the pilgrim, You are an island in the sea, You are a stronghold upon land, You are healing to the sick. You are the luck of every joy, You are the light of the sun's beam, You are the door of lordly welcome, You are the pole star of guidance, You are the step of the roe of the height, You are the step of the white-faced mare, You are the grace of the swimming swan, You are the jewel in each mystery.
