Mary is also a proud member of the iconic motivational speaker, Les Brown’s Platinum Speakers where she is in training to become one of his 100,000 Voices of Hope

Mary dropped out high school in the 10th grade and went on to become a graduate of Wartburg College with a degree in Social Work. She also has a Doctor of Jurisprudence (Law Degree) from the University of Iowa Law School. She practiced Law for 10 years before starting AWARE Resource Management Consultants where she did human resource and diversity training nationwide. Under AWARE, she continues to lead Retreats/Workshops/Seminars that help people to recognize, avoid, and survive toxic relationships and offers tips on how to thrive after coming out of one.

She pastored Valley View Baptist Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa where she made headlines by being an African-American called to a Caucasian Church. Nine and one half years later she moved back to Waterloo and founded her current Church. Mary is the past president of "Black American Baptist ABC-USA" and has served on the General Board of the American Baptist Church-USA and on its Board of International Ministries. She served 2 six year terms on the State of Iowa Board of Education and 10 years as the President of the Iowa/Nebraska State NAACP. During that time, she co-authored legislation and her lobbying and organizational efforts led to the establishment of the Iowa Commission on the Status of Blacks.

Since 1968 Rev. Robinson has given of herself to Iowa and the Nation in a number of civic and community endeavors. She has also taught as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Northern Iowa, the University of Iowa, and Cornell College and taught one class at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. She was featured in the PBS Series “With God on Our Side: The Rise of the Religious Right in America”. She practiced law at her own firm, The Robinson Law Office in Cedar Rapids, IA for more than 10 years before accepting the Call into the Ministry. She founded the Cedar Rapids Chapter of the International Association of Free Women in Christ and helped to set up chapters in Muscatine, IA and Columbia, MO. Also while in Cedar Rapids, she founded the Black Women’s Civic Organization whose purpose was to empower students to become over comers.
Mary has three beautiful daughters, four wonderful grandchildren, and one adorable great grandson. She loves to travel and experience new things. She has a passion for reading, especially historical novels and self-development books and listening to self-development tapes.

Some of her most treasured memories are two Tours of the Holy Land, Jordan, and Italy; and a pilgrimage to Ghana, West Africa where she received her Ashanti Ancestral Name. Rev. Robinson is a preacher, a trailblazer, a teacher, a tireless community leader/activist, and a woman of God with a message.
