Who we are

Christ Fellowship is an Apostolic Pentecostal Church offering the hope, peace and joy that comes through the love of Christ and the salvation He gives.

Statement of Faith

"...and they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine..." - Acts 2:42

Christ Fellowship is an Apostolic Church which means we wholeheartedly embrace as absolutely true and essential the ancient Biblical doctrines, among which are the absolute Oneness of God, the essentiality of the New Birth, the identity of Jesus Christ as the One Creator God manifest in the flesh, repentance from dead works, the essentiality of water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remissions of sins, and the essentiality of the baptism with the Holy Ghost with the common sign of speaking with tongues.

Christ Fellowship is a Pentecostal Church which means we wholeheartedly embrace as absolutely true and essential the present operation of God by His Spirit through the gifts of the Spirit and the responsibility of the Body to judge what is allegedly spoken by the Spirit of God. We accept the empowerment of the believer as a temple of the Holy Ghost unto a victorious life of holiness, modesty, and moderation. We reject rigid formalism in public worship and prayer while equally rejecting an atmosphere of indecency or disorder.

Elaine Light Hood was born in Rolla, Missouri in 1983. The daughter of a home missionary, Sister Hood has spent her life involved in almost every aspect of ministry from the ground up. As she has often said, “The only things I’ve never done in church are to preach and be the Church Secretary.” Baptized at the age of 8, Sister Hood went on to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost at age 11 and almost immediately became a Sunday School Teacher.

A graduate of the University of Missouri – Rolla, she obtained her B.A. in History and Missouri State Teaching Certification. She worked for a period as a public school teacher leaving that position to return to UMR as a marketing specialist and international recruiter. Prayer & Intercession

The Word of God teaches us that the effect of prayer is real. Things happen because we pray that wouldn't happen if we didn't pray. Prayer is relevant. It will never be some "out of date" ritual. Prayer is effective with effects that can be instantaneous or progressive. We minister in prayer and intercession to anyone in need.

Almsgiving

We have been blessed to be a blessing. Christians are often accused of not doing enough to help others. That fact is, we can't always financially help everyone who has a need. But we don't excuse ourselves from the responsibility of helping others. The Bible never teaches or commands a church as an "entity" to support individuals needs. This is to be done by the individual Christian through the practice of almsgiving - giving of time and resources to help others in need. It is a very personal matter; not a photo opportunity or publicity stunt.

Children's Ministry

When we say Children's Ministry, we mean ministry! It's more than babysitting. Our teachers are committed to presenting the Word of God and Christian living in a practical, relevant way. Children can know their God, not just know about Him, and experience Him in a fun and engaging atmosphere. Because we integrate children in our regular Sunday School, all of our Church family has an opportunity to get involved in reaching and teaching our children.

ASL Interpretation

We want everyone to have the opportunity to receive the message of the Gospel. American Sign Language interpretation of our services is available.

Spanish Translation

The Gospel sounds beautiful in any language. Translation of our services into Spanish is available.

Home Missionaries

A home missionary is someone who has dedicated a season of their life to establishing a Church in the United States. We are blessed to give of our time and resources to help invest in these Kingdom efforts.

World Missions

A world mission is an evangelistic work in a country outside of the United States. This includes missionaries who have left their home countries to serve in a foreign field and works under the oversight of national laborers. We have been blessed to have a direct impact through giving of time and resources to the nations of Belize, Indonesia, Kenya, and the Philippines as well as supporting Bible Translation projects through IBT Russia.

Quarters for Quarters

Through something as small and simple as collecting spare change, we financially support special projects throughout the year. A new project is chosen every quarter with each person in the church asked to give at least two quarters per week. Through this project we have been able to support local service institutions, assist home and world missions, and fund special humanitarian projects such as supplies for the elderly, shut-in, and homeless in our area.

The Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ International, Inc.

We work together with the Ministers, Saints, and Churches of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ International, Inc. to promote local and national conferences, camps, youth programs, and to provide a network of good Christian fellowship and accountability.

Christ Fellowship Apostolic Pentecostal Church History

Our History - Founded April 18, 2017

Christ Fellowship Apostolic Pentecostal Church began as the burden of two families. The desire was to see the people of Lebanon, Missouri and the surrounding areas have a safe environment to either find Christ for the first time or return to Him. For two years while Jason and Elaine Hood evangelized, they would drive by the exit to Lebanon and say, "This town needs a church." Finally, the burden became too heavy to ignore. The Hoods left full time evangelistic work and started looking for opportunities to serve in Lebanon.

On Saturday, April 1, 2017 a small group met for a Bible study at a local coffee shop. In a matter of only a couple of weeks, a facility was rented at 884 West Park Manor. The first service was held at that location on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Many came. Many went. But a few stayed as they found the true presence of Christ at Christ Fellowship.

In June 2018 and due to a seemingly terrible circumstance, Christ Fellowship moved from the seclusion of a neighborhood to a storefront location at 735 South Jefferson Avenue - right on the busiest street in town. Although the move brought loss and great discouragement, it was quickly evident that the hand of God was at work. As one observer put it, “God took a hidden jewel and made it a city set upon a hill for all to see.” It was in this location that our first souls would be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and the church would see tremendous moves of the Spirit of God.

Then, in November 2019, the Lord opened another door for us as Christ Fellowship moved to a new, larger location at 380 South Washington Avenue. At this location the Saints of God renewed their commitment and covenant with the Lord, purposing to seek His face and welcome His presence like never before. Soon, the gifts of the Spirit began manifesting among the people and power for service was poured out from on high.

After almost two years, the down payment was made and, on September 30, 2021 the South Washington facility was purchased. All of this was because of God's blessing on freewill giving without a single fundraiser being held. Christ Fellowship finally had a permanent home. On April 23, 2022, we celebrated our 5th Anniversary and the dedication of our facility unto the Lord.

Our mission continues to minister salvation and healing to whosoever will. Our aim is not to be liberal or conservative but biblical. Church growth programs are not on the agenda, but people growth is. Megachurch status is not part of the five-year plan. Christ Fellowship is a group of people from many backgrounds and experiences. We are, in many ways, misfits. But all have the hope of continuing as the perfect place for imperfect people to find a perfect hope in the Lord Jesus Christ and to always be a place where Your Past doesn't Define Your Future.
