Rev. Sheila Burrows became the Lead Pastor of the Beaufort Church of the Nazarene after her husband Rev. Robert ‘Doc’ went to be with the Lord in September 2020 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Pastor Sheila will be ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene in July 2021. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Malone College in Canton, Ohio, and a ministry certificate from Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO. She enjoys card making, being with people, crafts, and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation.
God gave the word ‘expectation’ to Pastor Sheila for 2021. She has expected and received many blessings. One of the greatest blessings was the completion of the church building. April 18, 2021, was a great day for the first official gathering in the building. It was a bittersweet day with knowing Pastor Doc’s dream was fulfilled yet him no longer being with us. Pastor Sheila strives to continue leading for all people to know God’s love, be saved, and live a life of obedience to His will. The Scripture given to her for the new church year is Galatians 6:8. It reads in The Passion Translation:
The harvest you reap reveals the seed that you planted. If you plant the corrupt seeds of self-life into this natural realm, you can expect a harvest of corruption. If you plant the good seeds of Spirit-life you will reap beautiful fruits that grow from the everlasting life of the Spirit.
May we all strive to sow good seeds so beautiful fruit will be harvested.
