Georgetown Presbyterian Church History
Georgetown Presbyterian Church (Howick, Quebec) was organized in 1823 when a group of inhabitants of North Georgetown decided to have a minister school master. The first minister was the Rev. Alexander McWattie of Scotland. The first church building was finished and opened on December 14, 1823. During the time of Church Union, the majority of the congregation of Georgetown Presbyterian Church voted to remain with The Presbyterian Church in Canada.
