Who we are
St.Sebastian"s church, Kottuvally belongs to the Diocese of Kottapuram. The parish consists about 700 families and it is divided into 19 family units. Each unit has an average of 35 families. The parish has a vibrant parish council and an active central committee who helps and plan the activities of parish. In the central committee, parish priest is the Chairman. President, vice president, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer are also elected from the central committee itself. Each family unit has five committee members including President, Vice-President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer elected from among them. Their term of office is two years. Every month on a particular day, unit meeting is held. After a prayer session (Bible reading, reflection, prayer of the faithful) discussions are held on matters concerning faith, morals and social. After the concluding prayer, the participants greet each other Praise be to Jesus Christ. All the family members are supposed to attend the meeting. However, 75% of the family members participate in the monthly meetings. Every year an Annual Day celebration is held. First, public meeting is held in the house followed by Agape and cultural programmes. Before the annual celebration, competition on religious, literary and sports items are organised and prizes are distributed at the Annual Day celebration.
