Who we are
We are a membership of about 54 and meet in a large, updated, Victorian premises in the centre of Penarth, South Wales. Our weekly morning service attendance is between 45 – 50, many of whom are retired, but still” young at heart”.
We have a small Junior Church, a weekly Toddler’s Group, a thriving, popular Saturday Coffee Shop, two well-supported Bible study groups, a lady’s walking group, a Craft Group, a Welsh learner’s class and a strong representation of Uniformed Organisations.
The Coffee Shop has answered a need in the Town, welcoming many new customers as well as the regular stalwarts with quality coffee, homemade cakes and good conversations. Similarly,” Nippers and Natters” serves the Community and both these offer opportunities for Pastoral care. Our involvement in the Community has led to a growth in attendance at Sunday Worship and we are open to new ideas of how Church life might expand in the future and make a more profound impact on Penarth.
As a member of the Penarth Council of Churches ( Cytun),we are also involved with other churches in the Ecumenical life of Penarth which include Lent lunches to support Christian Aid, Lent House groups, the Octave of Prayer and a Men’s Fellowship.
We also have links internationally with Drs Mark and Andrea Hotchkin working for BMS in Chad, Ben Bowkett in Bosnia, Roman Baranowski, an evangelist in Eastern Europe, and through the Penarth and District Lesotho Trust actively support a school and orphanage in Lesotho.
