Pastor V. A. Stewart came to Toronto in 1975 following her marriage to Pastor E. Stewart. Since then, she has served in several capacities as teacher, Dept. leader, Counsellor, Missionary, Evangelist, exceptional administrator, and now Pastor truly an example of a virtuous woman.
Pastor V. Stewart graduated from York University in Psychology, registered social worker with the college of social work, certified group facilitator. She is presently a Forensic Social Worker with the Ont. Government.
Currently, Pastor lends her service and talent to many areas. She serves on the Board of Directors with the Canadian Apostolic Ministries. She is the co-founder of Christian Family Counsellors, and she has been Executive Director and manager over several ministries and organizations.
While obligations to ministerial commitments are a priority, Pastor V. Stewart ensures that her other covenant relationships are well maintained. She maintains a supportive and motherly relationship with her three adult children that are very active in ministry, and ensure time is allotted to grandchildren.
Pastor has been a keynote speaker at many conferences, seminars and retreat facilitator internationally. She endeavours to operate with a renewed mantle of love, hope and healing. She provides counselling for individuals, children, couples, family and a God driven dimension of spiritual leadership in her calling in God as she encourages individuals to strive for higher ground in the kingdom of God.

True Church of Jesus Christ Fellowship History
On January 19, 1977 a small group of men and women led by the spirit of God came together to seek God’s will. They continued steadfast from house to home and breaking of bread as the Lord led. The first prayer meeting was held in the home of Pastor and Missionary Stewart’s home in Richmond Hill, Ontario. As the gathering began to increase, the homes became too small to accommodate everyone. Recognizing the true working of the Holy Spirit in the midst they were led to launch out into the deep and commence services as a church under the leadership of Pastor Stewart and with the assistance of Missionary Eva Williams.
In the same year, 1977, they found accommodation at 31 Scarlet Road - Toronto, ON and held services there, three times a week. On February 20, 1978 the assembly received its Charter, Seal and Corporation by-laws from the government to be a recognized religious assembly. On December 23, 1979 the church moved to 115 Simpson Avenue - Toronto, ON. The Lord Jesus extended his mercies once again and allowed us to relocate to 96 Highview Avenue on November 1 1991. The blessings continued to flow with the saving of souls and the witnessing of those receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost despite the trials and testing of the enemy. The urgency to secure a permanent place of worship was inevitable.
On November 26, 1993 at approximately NOON, the trustees of the True Church of Jesus Christ sat in the lawyer's office and signed the final papers to take over the premises of 250 Warden Avenue, as our new place of worship.
On February 5, 1994, with praise and thanksgiving to our Lord, the members began to prepare our new location for worship on Sunday. The following months were very busy as we prepared the worship centre for the Dedication Service in June 1994. As His word promised, He added to the church and soon we were in need of a larger worship centre. In March of 2004, by His divine grace, we relocated back to 96 Highview Avenue While in the process of using and the ministry continued to grow.
The founder, visionary, and senior Pastor of the True Church of Jesus Christ, the late Elder E. L. Stewart went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2006. Pastor Stewart stood at the panicle of mentoring youth, future ministers, and leaders as they thrive on his every movement in the Lord. Through his foresight people discovered their destiny and purpose in God. He was no ordinary Man. The legacy and vision of our late Pastor E.L. Stewart will continue to live on as we endeavour to uphold this ministry.
Following the passing of the late Pastor Stewart, Evangelist Vira Stewart has without hesitation stepped up to the task of leading God's flock. We are confident that God ordered every step and as he had prepared Moses, he prepared her with the necessary tools for leadership and First Lady was ordained Pastor of the True Church of Jesus Christ on October 21, 2006.
We don't know exactly what the future holds, but we do know it’s in God’s hands and it has, It's always been and continues to be an exciting adventure as, we race toward the place where He has gone to prepare for us, resting on His promises. God has blessed us in every way and we are grateful to Him and we give Him all the glory and all the honour and all the praise that is due to His most Holy name, Jesus Christ.
