SUMMARY:The Parish Church Of St Luke Service Times
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Holy Communion 8:00am BCP. Every Sunday at 8:00 AM for ½ hour Parish Eucharist Each Sunday the Eucharist is celebrated at 8am and 10.15am. Members of the congregation read and lead intercessions and there is musical input from the Director of Music and members of St Luke’s Church Choir. As well as the vicar, we have a number of visiting preachers who offer differing perspectives during the year. Refreshments are served following the 10.15am Parish Eucharist and the congregation is invited to socialise and welcome visitors. The Sunday Parish Eucharist is based on Common Worship (Order One) modern language and we take full advantage of the authorised freedoms using seasonal material. A set of service books has been prepared for use during each of the main seasons of the Christian year. Individual Orders of Service are prepared for use at each of the major festivals and on other special occasions. Every Sunday at 10:15 AM for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Junior Church Junior Church runs simultaneously with the 10.15am Parish Eucharist (excepting the first Sunday when everyone attends the Family Service). All children are welcomed into church for a blessing during Communion. Every Sunday at 10:15 AM for ½ hour Family Service This is usually Eucharistic but where the worship is informal and lively Every first Sunday at 10:15 AM for 50 minutes Monday Morning Prayer Morning prayer is said on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00am. The Minister from the nearby Methodist Church joins members of St Luke's. Celebrating Common Prayer is used. Morning prayer is said on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00am. Monday at 9:00 AM for ½ hour TOTS A parent and toddler group meets each Monday in term time for a short service, refreshments and a chance to talk Monday at 10:15 AM Afternoon Bible Study An afternoon study group looking at biblical books. Monday at 8:00 PM for 1½ hours Tuesday Morning Prayer Morning prayer is said on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00am. The Minister from the nearby Methodist Church joins members of St Luke's. Celebrating Common Prayer is used. Morning prayer is said on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00am. Tuesday at 9:00 AM for ½ hour Wednesday Morning Prayer Morning prayer is said on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00am. Wednesday at 9:00 AM for ½ hour Lunch Time Recitals Continuing the tradition of good music at St Luke's, a recital is held in the Church every Wednesday at 12:30 and lasts for about half an hour. The recitals are free of charge and provide a perfect break for you to have your lunch and relax before heading back to work. Bring your own sandwiches. Tea and Coffee is served. Every Wednesday at 12:30 PM for ½ hour Thursday Holy Communion A said Eucharist (BCP) followed by refreshments in the Parish Room. Every Thursday at 11:00 AM for ½ hour St Luke's Fellowship St Luke's Fellowship is open to both men and women and meets in the Church Hall on the fourth Thursday of the month at 2.00 pm. Talks are arranged during the year, a Christmas lunch and outings in the summer to places of interest are all part of the programme. Tea, biscuits and chat is a part of every meeting. Annual membership is £4.00 Every fourth Thursday at 2:00 PM for 1 hour Friday Morning Prayer Morning prayer is said on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00am.
