Who we are
BBC is a friendly, Bible- preaching church in Elmont, New York. We are conveniently located on the border line of Nassau County and Queens County.
Marvel not that I [Jesus] said unto thee, Ye must be born again
Our Doctrinal Statement:
THE BIBLE
We believe that the whole Bible, consisting of sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally and plenarily inspired Word of God, and inerrant in the original writings, trustworthy in all that it affirms, whether in historical, scientific, or moral matters. The Bible is the supreme and final authority in faith and life. We believe God has preserved His Word and that the Bible we have today is the very Word of God. Furthermore, we believe the authorized King James Version is the most suitable and reliable English translation.
(II Tim. 3:16; II Peter 1:21; Ps. 119:89; Mark 13:31)
GOD – THE TRINITY
We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19; I John 5:7). We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary, that He is true God, and true man, and the only mediator between God and man. He is "God manifest in the flesh" (I Tim. 3:16). We believe in His sinless life, vicarious death, bodily resurrection, and pretribulational and premillennial return.
(Matt. 1:21-23; Acts 1:11; I Tim. 2:5)
We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine Person who is co-eternal and co-equal with God. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; regenerates all who believe on Christ; baptizes all who are saved into the body of Christ at conversion; and that He seals, indwells, fills, teaches, endues, guides, helps, and sanctifies the believer. We reject the modern day "charismatic movement."
(John 3:3-8; 16:8-14; Rom. 8:9; I Cor. 2:10; 6:19; 13:8-10; Eph. 5:18).
SALVATION
We believe all men are dead in their trespasses and sins, guilty, lost and absolutely incapable of saving themselves by their own efforts. They are under the judgment of God and are without excuse. We believe that in order to be saved, man must repent of sin, turn to Christ, and receive Him as Lord and Saviour. We believe that we are saved solely by grace, through faith in Christ’s finished work on the cross. Furthermore, we believe in the eternal security of the saved and the eternal punishment of those who reject Christ.
(John 3:16-18; 3:36; Rom. 10:9-13; Eph. 2:8, 9)
THE LOCAL CHURCH
We believe that the local New Testament Church is the agency through which God has chosen to accomplish His work in this dispensation of grace; that it is an organized congregation of regenerate, immersed believers, voluntarily united together for the purpose of worship, edification, observing the ordinances, fellowship and service; that the true mission of the church is world evangelization – the fulfillment of the Great Commission. We believe the local church should be independent, autonomous, and free from any outside interference or external hierarchy.
